New Executive Chef Joins Sugar Bowl
For immediate release - June 23, 2008 - Donner Summit


Sugar Bowl welcomes their new executive chef, Alan Davis. Alan has been a resident of Donner Summit since 1996 after graduating from The Florida Culinary Institute. He joins the resort from Rainbow Lodge, where he served as Executive Chef and General Manager for the past 12 years.

Alan’s career highlights include numerous write ups in the Sac Bee, San Francisco Chronicle, Tahoe World, and the Reno Gazette Journal. He has also appeared on the Food Channel’s “The Best Of”. He is recognized by Chaine des Rotisseurs for his excellence in cuisine and service. Alan specializes in French cuisine, while infusing contemporary practices, allowing him to be versatile, creative and flexible in his menu concepts.

Alan’s taste in fine dining is influenced by a French/ California Cuisine style. He continues the exquisite dining experience of Sugar Bowl’s Four Peaks Restaurant while bringing in a new menu and some great summer experiences.

This summer you will be able to enjoy an evening of wine tasting, dinner, and lodging surrounded by the beautiful wild flowers of Mt. Disney. Sugar Bowl is hosting five separate evenings of fine wining and dining at the Four Peaks Restaurant. Packages include one or two nights stay at the Lodge, a five course meal pared with five different wines from a select group of vineyards. Each vineyard will have an expert on site for your tasting experience.
