Sugar Bowl Announces New Marketing Director

Sugar Bowl Ski Corporation has selected John Monson to be the resort’s new Director of Marketing and Sales. Monson, 37, will be responsible for leading all promotional initiatives for the historic Tahoe resort.

“We are thrilled to have someone with John’s experience and skill set joining our team”, said Sugar Bowl General Manager Rob Kautz. “We’re confident that his efforts will not only deliver local and regional results, but have a far-reaching presence into the industry overall”. Sugar Bowl Plans to Build Olympic Style Skier & Boarder Cross Training Course- Improve & Expand The Switching Yard Terrain Park

(Donner Summit, CA) - Skier and Boarder-Cross events will make their Olympic debuts at the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver, and today Sugar Bowl unveiled plans to build and maintain the country's only season-long, event-specific training course for skier and boarder-cross athletes heading to the games. What's New at Sugar Bowl
Sugar Bowl is excited to announce that they are on schedule for completion on the first phase of the New Jerome Creek Lodge for their new Village at Mt. Judah. This new project includes 23 luxury ski-in/ski-out condos at the base of Mount Judah. The units range in size from two to four bedrooms with spacious interiors and many custom finishes. More....

New this year the resort will now offer a new overnight ski/ board check, increased parking shuttles, a new ski & snowboard porter service at Mount Judah, a brand new season locker room, and a new snow play/tubing area. More....

Race & Jam For The Cure
Sugar Bowl is teaming up with Boarding for Breast Cancer and The HERA Foundation to race and jam for the cure on February 14, 2008. The resort will be holding a Dual Giant Slalom race in the Christmas Tree Race Arena and a rail jam in the Switching Yard Terrain Park. All entry fees from these events will go to help find a cure for breast cancer and ovarian cancer. Sugar Bowl will have many sponsors on hand supporting the cause. More....

Summit Slide
Come check out Sugar Bowl’s New Snowplay area! It’s conveniently located just off Interstate 80 at the Norden/Soda Springs exit at our Donner Summit Lodge facility. Tickets are only $5 per person and you can purchase all of your sledding needs at Summit Snowboard & Ski shop located adjacent to our sledding area. Operations are subject to weather conditions. Snowplay area operates daily during holiday periods and weekends throughout the winter. Sledding hill and area are open from 9 AM to 4 PM weekends and holidays. More....

Snowshoe Tours
Enjoy a scenic historic snowshoe tour of Sugar Bowl and the surrounding area. Your tour will start at the Mt. Judah Lodge pass Lake Mary, cross Tunnel 41 (on the railroad line), then pass under the classic Sugar Bowl gondola and will end with a small tour through the Sugar Bowl Village. Children's Programs
From our dedicated kids “clubhouse” in the Mountain Sports Learning Center to the flying carpet” Flume” ride, families love our kids’ programs. Programs are either full or half day sessions. Packages include a lift ticket, rental gear, lunch (for a full day session only), and lesson. Lesson programs start at age 3. Any Mountain, Any Time, Any Turn
The focus of this camp is applying modern techniques to your personal skiing and adapting them to all terrain and snow conditions: groomed, bumps, race, steeps, deeps, ice, hard, soft all terrain. Sugar Bowl’s elite PSIA certified instructors focus on tactical approaches to blend and incorporate modern techniques to each individuals’ personal skiing.
